2013

Well Hello There!

Now that 2013 is coming to an end, I've taken a look at the year and realized that it has been a good, long, hard hell of a year! So for todays post I am going to brign you on a little journy with me and go through 2013 with me!

- January
I started the year by making new years resolutions and was eager to fill them up! My dad turned 48 on january the 7th and on that same day I got some really grate news, I got a job! My first propper job with long work days and real monthly paycheks! I owe a lot to that job, but mostly I owe the peoble I worked with. They drew me out of me little shell so I gaind a lot of confidence and grew up! I also met one of my closest friend there!
Also in January I got my drivers license (FINALLY).

- Febuary
Just an ordinary month, nothing outstanding that pops into my mind. Got my first paychek though and that was pretty exited! But I just kept on going to work and kept on with my life. Febuary is a short month and it flew by like the wind on a stormy day.

- March
A very big step was taken along with a huge decition that month. I stoped taking my dipression medication. It might sound lika the tiniest thing to someone, but my doctor had said to me that I had to be on them for one and a half year, maybe longer, before I could quite taking them but I had been feeling so good past months that I decited to quit. But that dosen't mean I am depression free, not at all, it just means I can cope with it and know how to handle it.

- April
One of my new years resolutions was to lose wight and lose 15 inches of my waist for mid April, and I did it! (even though they're all back now...) Life kept on going and I was happy with me and my life!

- May
On the 13th of May I turned 19 and later in May my older brother turned 28. My last day at work was at 31st of May which ment thant I had to find a summer job. Denmark won Eourovision and Iceland sang their song in Icelandic which haven't happened since 1997. I delivered lambs to their mommy sheeps like I have done for the last 8 years and over all it was a great month. Funny fact, May is my favorite month, everything gets its colors back after a long gray sleep under the white thik cover of winter.

- June
I started my summer job which you can read all about in another post. My younger brother gratuated 10th grate and I went out with my friends couple of times.

- July
The first week of July was the most fun I had this year and you can reat about what I did here. I met some new people and some friends from other countries aslong I made some really good friends! My little brother turned 16 which means he can apply for his drivers license and start practising ( but I just got mine!) A tractor drove over my fathers food and around the same time I had my last day of my summer job.

- August
My 20 days of no work began but those days were a hell of a work thoug, with my dad's broken leg there was a lot do do around the farm. But on the 22nd of August, onother big step was taken in my life. As my brother begin his journy  in high school I returned to mine. This was a big desition for me, the last time didn't go so well so I was a little bit scared of going back but I am glad I did. That means I am closer to gratuating ( whenever that will happen though!)

- September
I got broke for the first time in my life, I had no money at all and had to ask my parents to give me some and that is not a proud moment for me. School kept on going and that month flew by.

- October
My little sister turned 12 and she is turning into a little rebel I can tell you! I got a part time job  along whith school which was getting alot harder! My dipression started to say hello and I was starting to have a little panic attakcs and loosing sleep out of stress.

- November
School and even more school and a little bit of work. I started to remember why I don't like to be in school and I just got more and more tired . Not a grate month to be honest.

- December
SCHOOL-SCHOOL-SCHOOL! It is driving me crazy! I quited my job and went to alot of meetings! But christmasbreak came with alot of missing sleep. But even school gets in the way of christmas as the teachers through some big assinments at us just before the break whisch didn't start until the 20th by the way! But in my break I've done a lot of thinking, alot of sleeping, alot of eating, alot of telly watching, alot of smiling and alot of laughing! I got to many presnts and one of them was the One Direction movie - This Is Us. This movie got me thinking what am I doing with my life, why aren't I living my dream like thouse 5 lads are doing!

But over all 2013 has been a great year, full of big decitions and growth. I met alot of new people and made alot of new friends! But like a heartbeat, life is full of up's and down's and this year have had it as well.

Until Next Time

Update

Well Hello There!

I thought I'd give you a little update of my life. As you know I returned to school this autumn and my christmasbrake started yeasterday so I have finished one semester. Last time I was in school it didn't go so well, I faild almost every class but this time I feel like it went much better! I don't get my grates til January though so I have to spend my christmas holiday thinking if I did it, did I pass my tests, did I do enough. But it hasn't been easy even though it went better, it has been one hell of a road and it has taken a lot of space on my scetual and it has been stressfull but I did it, and I am so proud of my self for doing it!
Like I said, my breake started yesterday so at my first day of doing nothing I slept in, cleand my room, put my christmas decorating up, cleand some other parts of my house, whats some telly, surfed the internet and now I am all cosy in my PJ's, listening to BBC Radio1 and writing a blog! I have a feeling that this is going to be a good christmas this year! I can now feel some relexion in my body and mind after a hard 5 months of work and I can gain my energy and build it up for the next year! I am really exited for 2014, new year, new begining, new oppertueties, new me!
That wasn't a big update but it hasn't much been up since last time, mostly just school and work. Oh yeah, I quited my job, that didn't work out so well so I have to get a new one next year, but Im not going to stress about that!

I think I going to let that be it for this time, until next time!

I Did It Again, Didn't I...

Well Hello There!

So, no blogging in august, no blogging in september and now october is nearly over as well. Sorry about that. But like always, there is a reason for that. I took a really big detition in august that has taken a big part of my time. I desited to go back to school. And it is freaking awsome I can tell you!

If I haven't told you, or it just passed you by, I dropped out of school 3 years ago because of my depression and stayed home for 2 years, than I started working.  When I quited my summer job last august I had to make a decition. Either get another job or go back to school. I quited on my depression medicine last march and was feeling really well so I decited  to go back to school. It is going really well, not like the first time at all! My grades are good, not like the first time, I have friends, not like the first time, I can comunicate with my teachers, not like the first time, my teachers are good and fun, not like the first time and most of all I'm having fun, not like the first time!

I'm taking sociology and coach studies so my scheduel is pretty wierd. I drive for about 30 min. to get to my school on Mondays here in my local town. Then on Tuesdays I have to drive to my local town for the first class, then I have to drive another hour to get to another school, which is in next town, and stay there for three days to take my coach studies. Then on Thursdays I have to drive back home so I can go to my local school in Fridays.

But being in school isn't free. I hardly earnd any money in my summer job so I am broke. I am living of my parets again and I don't like that at all. There is nothing more humiliating than asking your parents, or anyone in fact, for some money. After you get the taste of  independence, you don't want to live of somone else. After finishing my money and having to ask my parents to pay my gas, my food and my phone bill I decited to look for a job with my school. That isn't easy to get a part job after school hours where I live, you have to "know people", and I don't "know people". But I got a job at a small coffee shop down at the sea side. The only problem is that I have to skip school on mondays to take it, so there is more homework. But I can comunicate with my teachers through my computer and the coffeeshop buisness is really quiet in the autumn and the winter, when the tourists stop coming so I have planty of time studying at my work.

My first day though... So I woke up, and I realised that I had overslept. I got dressed, and ran out in my car. Then when I was half way there I realised that I didn't have my phone with me! Well I couldnt turn around could I, alredy 10 minuits to late, so O kept on driving. Finlly there and my boss was late to so I had to open the coffee house. She told me the security cote but I wasn't cuiet sure about it but I had to try. So I opened the dore, put in the code and nothing. But all of a sudden the alarms starting going and boy where they loud! I ran in the kitchen too look for the phone, I found the phone but of cours I didn't have my bosses number. "OH, YOU IDIOT!" so I just stood there when she came running in and fixed the code and the alarms went off. "Whoops" That's all I couldsay! But it wasn't over there, I spilled coffee, spilled soup and broke one glass...

Until Next Time!

Since The Last Time We Met

Well hello there! Long time no see!

So I haven't bloged for ages (nothing new), and there is a reason for thar (like always). I thougt I'd take that reason and make it into a blogpost. So I'm going to tell you what I've been up to this last month.

1.-8. of July
I went on a Nordick youth camp that was held here in Iceland. It is an organisation called NSU that threw this thing together and it is a place to meet new people your age, hear about their countries and cultures, have some fun and making friends and memories for life. We have a facebook acount called Panorama Of Youth if you would like to go over there and take a look of some photos and videos and see what wee have been up to. I went on a conferance held by NSU in Denmark last December and I met alot of these people over there so it was nice to katch up. I am learning to become a leader and the conferance and youth camp is all a part of that program. So meeting people that share the same interess as you and tell you about their organisations and programs is so inspiering! I am also hopefully going on a leader camp in Denmark next October but more of thar later. During this week we also went sideseeing around Iceland and we saw the Golden Circle which I've never seen upclose even thoug I live in Iceland... We also went on the Icelandic Olympics and did a flash-mop there and it was SO COOL! I've always wanted to do one and this was so uniqe and different, we were just like; "Hey, lets do a flash-mop" - "OK" and we didn't come up with any dance moves and we didn't have any music so we just sang "EVERYBODY DANCE NOW" at the top of our lungs danced around like a group of total idiots who should propobly be locked in somewhere! This week made me step out of my compfort zone so much and I gaind so much confidence during the camp!!! But then it was time to say our goodbuy's and head off to our homes and regular lifes.

9.-11. of July
So I went back home to my family and my summer job which is (or was, it is over now) work-school for kids aged 13 - 17 years old. So basecly I sat on my ass all summer long telling the kids to behave while thei sat on their behindes and picked up glass and painted the road. The pay was redicilous, I didn't earn a single penny this summer and my boss, or should I say bosses ( they were 3) where always telling me to do the opisite things and I didn't know who I should listen to! But it is over now.

11. of July - Now.
On the 11. of July my dad had an acedent. A tractor drove over his leg so he was picked up by an ambulance and driven to the next hospital which is three hours away from here. There he had to wait all night in a wheelchair on the halls of the hospital because there was no doctor who could do the surgery on him on shift. So around lunch time on the 12. of July he had the surgery and have to be in a cast and can't put his foot down until mid October. So I have been working on the farm along with my former summer job all this time. When my dad brakes his leg ti takes 5 people to fill in for him! My older brother, who we berly see, came and stayed with us for 10 days. He haven't done that in about 15 years so there is a upsite in theis situation.

Today
So I am currently forking my ass of like everybody else on the farm at the moment. The only reason I have time to write this blog is because I am sick and can't sleep. But yesterday I did something fun for my younger siblings. We went on a day off in the capital. We went bowling, it was my sisters first time and she is a genious a long with my brother who got strike in like every other throw! We also went for some icecream, did a bit of shoping and went to the movies and saw Grown Ups 2 and if you haven't seen that movie you should do it right away! I haven't laughed so hard for the longest time, my sister kept sushing me 'cuz she was so embarresed of me!

What Is Coming Up
I have desided to go back to school this autunm after a little while so we see how that will go. I am also looking for a job because I am kind of a broke. And hopefully things will slow down so I can focus on my blog and upgrade my twitter acount and upload a youtube video and see how that will go. And also consintrade on my newyears revelutions.

Well I think that is it for now. I will write another post hopefully tomorow and that post will be monthly for now on. But until next time,

~ Elisabeth

Believing

What do we believe in? There are many things to believe in like; gods, ghosts, miracles, fairytale, science.   But there is one thing we often forget to believe in and that is ourselves. Why is that? Why do we only hear the bad things about us? If someone would say to you that 70% of your body is water you would probably answer; "Yes I believe you." But if someone told you that you have a beautiful smile you would most likely
say; "Nah, I don't believe you."Why, WHY can everybody else but me see all the wonderful things I have? Is it because I have a mental illness? Is it because of all the beautiful photo-shopped models in the magazines I look through?  Are we born like this? Why is it so hard to like myself?
Half a year ago I felt so selfish when I looked in the mirror and smiled at my self because I think my smile is beautiful but today I smile in the mirror and feel good about myself instead. So don't worry, there is a way
out! First I am going to tell you my story and then I am going to tell you what I did to start believe in me.
So when I was 13 years old I started to feel really bad and did not like myself at all and it just got worse. then when I was 17, I went to the doctor and he told me that I was depressed for sure. So I went on medication and it instantly got better! I am off those med's now and I still feel wonderful. But thought I was on these med's I still felt selfish and foolish looking at me in the mirror like myself.
But half a year ago I got a job after being out of school and with no job in 2 years and that first step was the key. The people I worked with there gave me so much confident. But I wanted more. And here are few things I did.
 1. Find a life motto. It can be one motto or it can be two or three or twenty! I have few and I am going to share to of them with you just to give you an example of what I mean. Motto numbero uno - "Because fu** you, thats why!" And motto numbero dos - "Hakuna-Matada".
  2. For this step you are going to need 4 things. A mirror, a pencil, peace of paper and yourself. Now go stand in front of the mirror and write down 5 things you absolutely hate about yourself.
  3. After writing down those 5 things you are going to take that peas of shi*, hehe I men peas of paper, and you are going to burn it, while you burn it you are going to scream out your motto!
  4. After you have done all of those things you are going to stand in front of the mirror again and write down ALL of the good things about yourself. It is hard, I know but not because there aren't any good things it is because the good things are limitless that you are most likely to need more of paper!
  5. When you have a good amount of wonderful things about yourself you are going to hand the paper up where you see it every time you look in the mirror!
Now you can go into life proud of being you! Just remember, when life gives you lemonade, make lemons. Life will be like "whaaaa?"

Voices

There are voices all around us. Voices that we hear with our ears and voices that we hear with our hearts. Then there are those voices that we hear in our heads but if you have one of thous I recommend you to see a
doctor, now. But I'm not going to talk about those voices.

I was watching the UK television show The Voice when I started to wonder what that word really meant. Why the judges in that show turn around their chair if they like the voice, why it isn't like other talent shows where you just watch the whole performance. Is it just to be different, is it to make the show more exiting, or is it to hear the contestants true voice?

If you try to look that word up in a dictionary you will find this; voice - consists of sound made by human  using the vocal folds for talking, singing, laughing, crying, screaming, etc. Well I think that's a bulls***! You don't have to be able to talk to have a voice! If you have something to say, something to share or an opinion you have a voice.

The first thing I notice about people is their voices. First I notice their outer voice, the sound that comes out of your mouth, than I notice their inner voice, the story they have to share. Most often those two voices don't fit together, they are telling a different story, and those are the voices to avoid. But sometimes you find people who has those two voices in a perfect harmony and when you finds such a gems you have found a true artist.

Well that was a wonder I had to share with you! Feel free to comment, I like to hear your voice on this subject! But until next time.
